The scheduled pre-bid date for this project of December 22nd was during the peak of the holiday season. Due to personnel scheduling conflicts normally experienced during this time, we request the mandatory attendance requirement be waived and/or a second conference be scheduled.

The project was advertised on December 11th with the showing date set, the advertisement followed our normal procedures for posting on eVA, the CABB system and email alerts. It is not our intent to vary from that process.

It is noted in the proposal that Site Preparations are to be included in the price of Installing GR-9 Terminals and Replacing GR-9 Terminals. Being that this is an interstate project are the site preparations to be constructed utilizing asphalt material in accordance with Standard 201.08? If so, the Department should add a pay item for Asphalt Material to address this issue.

Are there any VDOT owned underground utilities within the identified work limits and if so what is the process and time frame for having said utilities located?

As with any road project, there may be underground utilities. The contractor will be required to have them marked by Miss Utility and VDOT. The VDOT contact will be identified at the preconstruction conference.
