Sheet 66G(10) provides a table of temporary pavement elevations to build up asphalt on the existing shoulder and construct the MB-8A barrier in Phase 2. Note #4 states the MB-8A barrier will be removed and replaced to final barrier elevations in Phase 4 from 112+50 to 115+50. However, the table provides temporary elevations for most of the barrier to be placed in Phase 2. Please confirm all MB-8A barrier that is installed in Phase 2 and required to be replaced in Phase 4 will be compensated under appropriate pay items (Median Barrier MB-8A and Remove Existing Concrete Barrier), with exception of the ten (10) foot transitions to tie into existing barrier.

Sheet 66 T(02) indicates there is 200 LF of MB-8A Type II on sheet 66L, 100 LF on sheet 66M, and 400 LF on sheet 66N. Sheets 66 K to 66-O have zero indication of MD-8A Type II anywhere on the sheets. Additionally, the quantities on 66 T902) does not match the actual taken off quantities on the individual sheets 66 K - 66-O. Please advise.

|
To follow up on the drainage question from 10/06, it was not intended to propose this as a potential VECP. The intent was to point out that due to the phasing of the work, the upstream end of pipe run 5-4 to 5-1 will be installed prior to the downstream end. This means that water will collect with nowhere for it to go. Therefore, to allow for the proper construction of the pipe run, will the Department change this run to a jack & bore and will the casing pipe be allowed to serve as the carrier pipe?

The intent of the design is to install the downstream end in Phase 3 and connect to the existing pipe. The remainder of the pipe can be installed in Phase 4. Plans will not be adjusted to require jack and bore.
