The specifications for the Time Lapse Monitoring System are found in the Special Provision for Time-Lapse Camera and Video Monitoring System, beginning on page 297 of the proposal. The specific placement of the devices are to be established in accordance with the special provision.

The bid item list shows 202 CY of Porous backfill in item 1210. B603 lists 99 CY of Porous Backfill on the quantity summary. None of the other structures show porous backfill as an item. What is the remaining quantity intended for?

Porous Backfill is also used at the RW-3s on roadway plan sheets 23 and 24, quantified on roadway summary sheet 2J(2).  
 
Subject: Sounds Barrier Wall Coating and Stain Type: Specifications

The SP for Sound Barrier Walls and Architectural Finishes states that all panels shall be colored on both sides, and the color shall be No. 36495. Architectural Treatment section 4 describes a color stain coating. Can the Department please confirm if the architectural treatment shall be stained a different color than those areas of the panel with a plain concrete finish, or is the panel, including the architectural finish, all one color (No. 36495). If the architectural finish to be stained, please provide details on the required colors.

No color coating will be applied to the posts or the 8-inch "coping area" at the top of the panels, they are to remain the natural color. The wall panels, below the coping area, shall receive color coating (including doors).

Please verify the abutment schematics for FRP installation shown in Bridge Plan 305-66. The drawings do not clearly indicate which abutment sections correspond to the existing bridge, and which correspond to the new bridge.

Fiber wrap is only applied to surfaces exposed by saw cutting on the existing bridge. Details on this sheet only apply to the existing bridge.

Please confirm whether a protective coating is required over the installed FRP. If a coating is required, we recommend an acrylic coating compatible with the FRP system that provides waterproofing and UV protection, which is typically recommended for bridge applications.
