Can the engineer confirm the contractor will be required to restrain joints 60' back off connection points on the existing line? Is there a detail or requirement that can be posted regarding restraining existing A/C joints?

Joint restraint is required on the existing AC pipe for the insertion valve at Sta. 9+96 on Profile W-1. The plans specify to use a thrust anchor at this location per Thrust Anchor for AC Pipe Detail on sheet 7(7). All AC pipe joints between the furthest away JCM #630 restrainer installed with the thrust anchor (Sta. 9+96) and the AC to DIP coupling (Sta. 10+12) shall be restrained with additional JCM #630 restrainers.

Per Geotech and plans there seem to be a lot of poor soils on this project. Can the department confirm pipe spoils and import for suitable backfill are to be included in the cost per linear foot for pipe and structures?

Unless otherwise noted in the drainage description for each structure and pipe, pipe spoils and import for suitable backfill are to be included in the cost per linear foot for pipes and included in the cost of each structure.
