For the Bridge Girders, an answer was posted about the structural steel required as follow, “The structural steel is required to be both Grade 50W and painted. All surfaces shall be painted (other than the anchor bolts, as called out in the plans.” Please Clarify the VDOT “painted requirement”, it is not that clear reading through the different specs, if it will be sufficient a shop painted with a primer and also the Girders will need any Field Coating.

Please confirm the quantity for bid item REF 1330 temporary sign. The addendum #4 quantity provided in the bid item list does not appear to match the total between the two plan sets.

About the Deck Drainage System plans subject; a question was answered about a revised sheet 19 that would be included in the next addendum. That sheet 19 didn’t come with any revision on the last addendum. It is very important to provide more detail and more information about this whole System. Please resolve accordingly.

Details and locations for the Deck Drainage System are shown on Sheets 14 and 19. Sheet 19 has been revised to more clearly identify the deck drain locations on the Deck Plan. The revised sheet will be included in the next addendum.

After reviewing traffic control and plan sheets, is there a specific reason as to why the Bridge is being constructed in stages? Can the construction of the Bridge be done in a single stage or elements done in a single stage? (E.G. – Substructure single stage, Concrete superstructure two stages)

The intention of separating the bridge into two stages is to reduce concrete cracking. The Contractor will be required to construct the substructure and deck in two stages as shown in the plans.

In Project Wise there are R3 Plan Sheet revisions that are associated with the July 10, 2026 Addendum. In addition there are R1 and R2 Plan Sheet revisions that are not referenced or mention anywhere. Are R1 and R2 Plans sheets suppose to be part of this Contract and where/when were they added to the Contract Documents. Please advise

No addendum was received notifying contractors of the R1 and R2 plan sheet revisions posted to the ProjectWise site. Are R1 and R2 Plan sheet revisions part of the contract documents? If so, please issue another addendum formally adding them to the contract and also allow additional time to the bid for contractors to the review the 53 additional plan sheets and prepare a responsible bid.

The revised plan sheets referenced in the July 10th revision letter are currently not showing up on ProjectWise. Please release them.

Will VDOT consider an extension of the bid due date; the next revision to the plans has not been received yet which will take significant time for contractors to review and incorporate into the bids?

Due to the this revision including some extra sheets (R1 & R2), but not answering all questions, VDOT will delay bid-letting and issue another addendum in the next week to summarize ALL plan changes.

Will you consider delaying this project? There are several plan revisions that have not been posted and the contractors will need time to review and price accordingly.

Existing bridge demolition is not shown to occur until phase 7 of the TMP. If the new interchange is open to traffic in its final configuration and all other requirements for substantial completion are met, will VDOT permit the existing bridge demolition to occur after the substantial completion date?

The CTDR is currently being revised with the new let date. VDOT will likely consider pushing back the Substantial Completion date with this delay. VDOT will confirm once we have the revised schedule.
