Sheet 1J(1) Temporary Pavement Inset, #4 states that subgrade remediation is required for Temp Pavement. Remediation shall consist of undercutting 6 inches of subgrade and replacing it with 6 inches of 21B. How will pavement demo of temp pavement be paid for? How will undercut of temp pave be paid for? How will 21B stone backfill be paid for?

Can a full nightly detour of Rte 29 Bus be used during the erection of the new bridge? Specs indicate only one lane in each direction may be closed between Phases 2 and 5 and plans indicate full nightly detour for milling.

Please bid according to the contract documents which do not allow a full nightly detour of Rte. 29 Bus. for construction of the new bridge. Please note that the allowable nightly detour for milling (referenced in the second part of the question) only applies to ramps for mill and overlay operations on the ramps. The Special Provision for Section 108.02 – Limitation of Operations specifies the allowable traffic control method and timeframe for bridge construction.

LINE ITEM 1940, ITEM ID 605SX20-0011 is described as LANDSCAPE MEADOW SEED MIX WHICH IS SPECIFICALLY ERNMS -861. ALSO ON THE PLAN SHEETS IS A VA SOUTHERN PEIDMONT BASIN MIX ERNMX-864. BOTH SEED MIXES HAVE THEIR OWN SEPERATE SY TO BE APPLIED. SO ARE THESE TWO ERNST MIXES TO BE USED IN THE SAME SEEDING AREA OR ARE THERE TWO SEPERATE AREAS THESE MIXES WILL BE PLACED? DOES THE ONE PAY ITEM, LINE 1940 COVER BOTH SEED TYPES, COST AND AREAS?

The seed mixes are to be used in separate areas and are different type mixes. The ERNMX-861 and 864 are located on the plan sheets and designated with separate hatching. The pay item in Proposal Line Number 1940 covers both seed mixes in both areas. Proposal Line Number 1940 - LANDSCAPE MEADOW SEED MIX in the Schedule of Items incorrectly references Spec No. 605 of the Specifications, but it should have an "ATTD" reference for the SPECIAL PROVISION FOR MEADOW SEEDING included in the bid proposal. This reference will be corrected in an upcoming addendum.

Is there a connection detail for the Chain Link Fence on top of RW-3's and Mod. MB-7F Barrier? Or, can a standard FE-CL be installed behind the walls?

Standard FE-CL installed behind the walls will not be permitted. The Chain Link Fence shall be surface mounted to the top of the walls/barriers. Connection requirements will be clarified with an upcoming plan revision. Connection hardware shall be configured to fit on top of the wall/barrier with no portion of the hardware projecting beyond the face of wall/barrier.
