Rte. 711 has 677 Tons of Agr. Base Mat. Ty. I OR II 21A or 21B . Could the department please detail a little more on the intent for this material? Grace Street has 80 tons for the replacement of unsuitable material. Is this 677 tons to be used as replacement for unsuitable or shoulder stone for the entire project or something totally different?

The Agr. Base Mat. Ty. I OR II 21A or 21B is to be used as needed to replace any unsuitable material encountered in the field.

Is the curb and gutter just an allowance for replacing broken curb or is there specific area there will be curb and gutter replacement. Thank you

The contractor is responsible for preserving and protecting existing curb and gutter. Any damages to the curb and gutter caused by the Contractor’s operations will be the responsibility of the Contractor to be repaired at no cost to the Department. The Curb and Gutter line item is to be used as needed at the direction of the Engineer.

What manhole/utility demo plan is the department referring to? It looks like we are to just adjust existing utilities.

The manhole/utility demo plan shall clearly define the proposed method for performing resurfacing work around existing utility structures and procedures for demolition and reconstruction of manholes, if required.
