Type C references routing the crack prior to sealing the crack. Would the state consider not routing and sealing only. We feel this further obstructs the pavement and is not necessary in this application. Whether the state chooses to route the crack, or not would the state consider using type A rather than Type C? There is no evidence this road will be overlaid. We realize the specification uses 64h-22 with polyester fibers however Type A works also and is more readily available.

Based on the condition of the cracks, routing is necessary in order to achieve proper adherence and sealing in order to maximize long-term performance of the crack sealant. Type A crack sealant is more rigid and will not be suitable for this application. Please bid according to the contract documents.
