In the event follow up question was not seen: Response does not provide sufficient clarification. For example: Is intent for face of wall sections A5 to be 2' 3 7/8" in front of face of footing /toewall? The field geometry of Abutment A does not match geometry shown on Plan Sheet B-10 or typical section shown on sheet B-9. With regards to plan sheet B-9 can you clarify the "varies" dimension and provide minimum and maximum heights and elevations of top of abutment footing / Toewall? What is directive if bench width at 2' below void is well less than 3' 0" detailed on plans? Can you also verify concrete quantities?

At wall section A5 the dimension 2’-3 7/8” is from face of footing or toe-wall to face of proposed curtain wall. On sheet B-9 the “varies” dimension is dependent on the limits of excavation in the field, which shall be 2’ below bottom of existing void. Plan sheet B-9 call out 3’-0” (+/-). Contractor should adequately prepare the surface, after excavation, for pouring the concrete curtain wall. Concrete quantities were calculated based on dimensions in the plans provided.

We are having difficulty locating under bridge access and meeting the 15ton weight limit, is there any allowances to be increased during construction? Will the weight limit remain the same after the new deck is poured on the structure? there are no requirements to remove the signs.

The existing posting will not be removed or modified during construction. The bridge should be open to legal loads once the project is complete.

Plan Sheets B-9 and B-10 detail the proposed curtain wall, It does not however provide sufficient detail for the bottom of the proposed wall? Is the intent for the bottom of the wall to be 2' below the void under the footer? Is the intent for the bottom of this wall to be consistent or step up and down with the slope? Can an elevation be provided for the bottom of this wall?

Excavation will be 2’ below the void under the footer. Curtain wall will be stepped to match the terrain.

Without having the Railroad Right of Entry Agreement there are several items that need to be addressed. 1. What are the Limits/Requirements for necessary Railroad Insurance. 2. Who is responsible for obtaining and paying the railroad flaggers? 3. Will there be any required submittals for the Railroad? If so what will they be. 4.How many trains per days utilize this track? 5.Are ballast and track protection required, if so what are the limits? 6. Work will be required over the track, will equipment i.e. man lifts be allowed in the Railroad ROW?
