Subject: NB Deck Closure Sequence Type: Plan

The proposal indicates an incentive to perform the overlay, paving, and striping for the NB structure by Nov of 2025. Sheet 6 of the plans note 1 indicates that the deck slab closures shall be completed prior to deck overlay for each phase of construction. Bearings for the NB structure will not be procured let alone installed prior to the incentive period and jacking with closed piers and a new overlay is beyond what is typically allowed or desired from the department. Will the department waive this sequence and allow the overlay, striping, and paving to be completed for the incentive and the closures completed after bearings are procured and replaced?

The intent of the interim completion incentive is to prevent potentially conflicting and/or overlapping work zones with an adjacent widening project on I-81. All work noted in the Interim Completion Incentive/Disincentive must be completed by the date indicated to be eligible for the incentive. Jacking simple support beams with a continuous deck is not preferred, but the Department will permit it when performed in accordance with the contract documents. Please see the notes on sheet 8.

In that case, will the Department supply to the Contractor the new replacement bearing devices for installation? Our experience is that the time required to get new bearings fabricated approved and delivered is 3 months minimum and more like 4 months typically. In that case, by the time we have the new bearings on hands we would be already deep into October.... I do not see how those timelines can be achieved in any way....

I still do not see the planholders list. On projectwide the "plan holders list" contains the proposal set...not the typicall planholders spreadsheet. Please advise.
