Subject: Inset D Type: Plan
Question Date: 4/11/2025 3:20:04 PM
Inset D on 9981-060-862 Plan Sheet 2A(2) for station 28+50 to 38+50 shows existing grade, an unlabeled section, a layer of geotextile fabric, 20" of dry riprap class A1, and 6" No. 1 aggregate. No where in the cross sections from existing grade to the proposed finish grade is it greater than 2'. In some cases it is 1 foot or less. Does the department intend for the existing ditch to be excavated to install the proposed section or geotextile placed on the existing ditch, 20" of dry riprap class A1 and 6" of No. 1? This second option would raise the proposed grade from what is indicated on the cross section. There is no indication of excavation in the cross sections. Any excavation in this area would likely be rock. Please clarify.
Answer   1 previous answer(s) Date: 4/14/2025 3:55:54 PM
The intent is to have a minimum of 20” of rip rap in the existing ditch bottom separated by a geotextile fabric and then topped by 6” of #1 aggregate. No excavation is required. A plan revision will be forthcoming via addendum.
