Are Automated Flagger Assistance Devices (AFAD) required on this project or is it simply an option to use in lieu of human flagging control?

AFADs are not required and are an option for Contractors to use in lieu of human flagging control.

Item 512SX20-0045 will be used to compensate the Contractor for human flagging. An addendum is forthcoming to add Special Provision with the details.
