Recent field observations identified a concrete pipe and manhole in the vicinity of the proposed wall. The concrete pipe is part of a slope drain that was installed after a recent storm event. The slope drain will be removed in conjunction with project. The manhole is still under investigation, but it’s not anticipated to be a conflict with the proposed wall. If during the prosecution of the work there is a conflict, resolution will be handled via a change order in accordance with Road and Bridge Specifications sections 104 and 109.

Section D is cut thru the bridge widening portion included in the existing plan # 196-19A. Existing Plan # 196-19A sheet 12 of 20 has expansion joint hardware attached to approach slab which will require portion of approach slab concrete to be removed and re-construct. The limit of removal and reconstruction of approach slab concrete will be the length shown along with the Plan Number 196-19A on the current bridge plan sheet 24 of 32. The remaining existing approach slab end along the joint which is not part of Plan Number 196-19A needs a hydro-demolition and overlay as shown in Section C on Sheet 23 of 32.
