Subject: Lane Closure House Type: Plan
Question Date: 2/25/2024 3:16:52 PM
TMP plans indicate that all lane closures must be at night. Lane closures are required daily for construction of this project. Does VDOT really expects the contractor to construct the entire project at night? This will be logistically very difficult and nearly impossible. Given the width of the roadway and the presence of two center turning lanes for nearly the entire length of the construction zone, day time construction won't affect the traffic much. Please consider allowing this project to be constructed during daytime hours.
Answer   Date: 2/26/2024 8:37:56 AM
Notes on Sheet 01J(1) indicate lanes closures are permitted between 8:00pm and 6:00am. Lanes closures outside those hours may be submitted to VDOT on a case-by-case basis.
