Subject: TIME Type: Plan
Question Date: 9/19/2022 2:08:57 PM
By the time the contractor gets the award and a precon, it will be late November 2022. 12 Months for this project is tight. Please consider adding more time to the contract as the review process for submittals and fabricating steel takes time, (as well as performing the work.)

There will be no changes to the contract time.
Subject: Concrete Surface Penetrant Sealer for Barriers Type: Plan
Question Date: 9/15/2022 12:35:14 PM
Plan Sheet 2 of 23 Note 8 of the Repair Work Above Deck section states this work is optional. Please clarify.
Answer   Date: 9/19/2022 9:56:13 AM
All construction activities must be completed on the bridge in accordance with ‘Special Provision – Limitation of Operations’. Question Date: 9/15/2022 12:34:40 PM
Please specify the limits of concrete surface penetrant sealer for the barriers.
Answer   3 previous answer(s) Date: 9/27/2022 11:11:40 AM
Limits of surface penetrant sealer for concrete barriers include front face and top face only for full length of both bridge barriers extending to the end of terminal walls.
Subject: REF: Bearing replacement details. Type: Plan
Question Date: 9/12/2022 1:47:14 PM
Need clarity. The dimensions referenced on the drawings do not agree with each other. As one example piers 1, 3, 5 & 7 the overall combined height is listed at 3.75" but the 4.66" bearing and 1.50" sole plate add up to 6.16" overall. The overall combined length of the sole plate is listed at 36" but the 24" anchor centers and 3" edge distance for the hole add up to 30" overall. The 24" anchor centers do not match the pedestal reconstruction detail that shows both 34" and 35.25" anchor centers both of which would require an even larger sole plate than listed or shown.
Answer   Date: 9/14/2022 12:06:12 PM
Please see forthcoming revision 1 plan sheets 2, 7, and 11, which addresses all these questions.

Subject: Reinforcing Steel for Expansion Joint Reconstruction & Backwall Reconstruction Type: Plan
Question Date: 9/12/2022 10:45:54 AM
There is no reinforcing steel detail shown for the Expansion Joint Reconstruction & Backwall Reconstruction items however note 4 on sheet 20 of 23 states new reinforcing steel to be lapped with existing longitudinal bars. Besides the replacement for bars with section loss, is there any intent to install new reinforcing bars in these areas?
Answer   Date: 9/14/2022 12:04:38 PM
This is only intended if new bars (as directed by the Engineer) are required to replace the existing bars with a section loss as per Note 9 on Sheet 20.
