Subject: 48" Bore and Jack Type: Plan
Question Date: 5/27/2022 10:32:42 AM
On plan sheet 17(2) there is one current and one proposed utility at or near the proposed invert elevation of the two 48" bore and jack crossings under the railroad. These utilities are located in the area required to excavate for the boring pit. Please confirm that the "Future 24 DIP San Sew" will be constructed after this project is completed and therefore not a possible conflict. Also please note due to the elevation and location of the existing 18"Sanitary Sewer, the bore pit will have to be located on the southern side of this existing sanitary sewer. The 48" casing will then have to be bored over this existing utility, effectively requiring more casing material.

Subject: Modify Signal Type: Plan
Question Date: 5/18/2022 11:04:36 AM
For line items 1110-1140 the description reads modify. Since we are removing the existing signal, installing a temporary signal, and making modifications to the temporary shouldn't there be a temporary signal line item added for each? It appears from reading the spec that a modify signal includes using existing equipment and not installing a temporary.
Answer   Date: 5/19/2022 1:42:23 PM
The modify signal pay item is to account for modifying existing and proposed signals. The cost to modify temporary signals is included in the overall price for the temporary signal.

Subject: Relocating Existing Mast Arm Signs Type: Plan
Question Date: 5/18/2022 10:15:09 AM
Sheet TS(2) and TS(3) both have existing mast arm signs to be relocated. Will you be adding a pay item on the contract?
Answer   Date: 5/19/2022 1:41:40 PM
The comment incorrectly refers to sheet TS(3), it should be TS(5). Sheets TS(2) and TS(5) indicate relocating existing street name signs from the existing mast arms to the proposed mast arms. The pay item “Relocate Existing (type) Sign Panel” will be added to the Traffic Signal Summary of Quantities and identify 5 each. Addendum is forthcoming.

Subject: Pedestrian PA-2, PA-4, & Accessible Push Button Station Type: Specifications
Question Date: 5/18/2022 10:07:51 AM
Note 2 on sheet TS(1B) states that the PA-2 & PA-4 line item does not include the pushbutton & sign. Please clarify what this item includes. According to the specification these two items include the pushbutton & sign. The accessible push button station line item can have PA-2 or PA-4 at the end. Please clarify the difference in these 3 items. Also, There are a total of 16 PA-2 & PA-4 and 17 of the accessible push button station, not sure why there is a difference in quantity.
Answer   Date: 5/19/2022 1:40:38 PM
The note 2 on sheet TS(1B) and the “Accessible Pedestrian System Push Button Stations” pay item will be removed. The accessible pedestrian push button stations special provision will be revised to remove the measurement and payment and make it incidental to the “Pedestrian Actuation” pay items. The quantity of “Pedestrian Actuation PA-2” should be 4 and the quantity of “Pedestrian Actuation PA-4” should be 15 (this was previously miscalculated on the Linda Lane intersection). Addendum is forthcoming.
