Plan No. 235-080, Sheet 6 of 10, states that "No additional compensation shall be made to the Contractor for additional layers that go beyond the estimated number of layers for the Design Case, per the Beam Repair Design Table." Please clarify how the FRP will be measured and paid if final calculations performed using the specified design criteria and approved FRP material properties, and the design demonstrates that more FRP layers or quantity than the estimated quantity in Bid Documents is required. Specifically, clarify: a. Whether the Contractor will be directed to install the additional FRP to met final design/approved calculations? b. How the additional layers will be measured and the Contractor compensated?

The CFRP design was developed based on the assumed number of lost prestressing strands identified through the hands-on inspection and conservative assumptions based on experience from the Phase I repairs. Therefore, it is not anticipated that the final design will require more CFRP layers than those shown in the Contract Plans. Measurement and payment for Fiber Reinforced Polymer Wrap shall be in accordance with the Special Provision Copied Note titled "SECTION 412—WIDENING, REPAIRING, AND RECONSTRUCTING EXISTING STRUCTURES," which defines the basis of measurement and payment for this work. The information required to perform the CFRP design verification, including girder geometry, prestressing details, reinforcement details, and other available design information, is contained in the existing as-built plans. In accordance with the Contract Plans, the Contractor shall submit final design calculations as part of the post-award CFRP design submittal. Per 7th paragraph of General Notes on sheet 4 of the Contract plans, original bridge plans, including shop drawings, are available for review at the District Bridge Engineer's Office.	7/22/2026
