Plan Sheets 12(3) & 12(4) depict the emergency pre-emption to be installed with confirmation lights. However the plans do not depict cable for the confirmation lights. Are confirmation lights required?

Subject: concrete- texturing and coloring- pricing Type: Proposal

Please clarify the quantities for texturing and coloring each item (4” sidewalk;8” pavement’; and cap for MS-1A) where required on the landscape drawings. Each item will require different amounts of color per cubic yard and labor for each item - therefore making it difficult to provide pricing for just coloring and impressing of concrete. Please provide pay items for 4” sidewalk; 8”pavement; and the cap for the MS-1A requiring the coloring and impressing each item. This will also affect the quantity for the curb in the MS-1A – doubling it.

The coloring and texturing concrete pay item is set up to cover coloring and texturing concrete items which are already quantified and paid as standard items. Coloring and texturing will be measured in square yards as most standard work items to which it will be applied are also measured and paid for by surface area. How any colored admixture cost differential related to depth or other factors is addressed among related items is up to the bidders' estimating means and methods.

The Substantial Completion Incentive will be determined in accordance with the SPCN as defined on p. 6 of the proposal.

Is Temporary Sidewalk and associated base aggregate paid under the bid item for Hydraulic Cement Conc. Sidewalk 4" or included with other pay items?

The materials to be used for the temporary sidewalk are shown on the typical section on Sheet 1H(2) and are summarized on Sheet 1H4 as Item ID 10123 Aggregate Base Material Type I No. 21A and as Item ID 10250 Aggregate Material Limestone Cap. Please refer to the special provision for sidewalk materials for specifications for the Aggregate Material Limestone Cap.

It is for fill material for the turn lane on Olde Towne Road. Please refer to Sheet 2B of the 108805 plan set (Project 0658-047-R97, M-501).

Bid Express website has posted the Addendum 3 Letter (July 2), but does not have a download available for either Addendum 2 or 3. Could someone please add these files?

VDOT Form C-51 - U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration Additional Classification and Wage Rate Request is available at the following link; http://vdotforms.vdot.virginia.gov/ . Pursuant to Title 29, Code of Federal Regulations, Section 5.5, After Contract Award Form C-51 is to be used to establish additional classifications(s) and wage rate(s) for Direct Federal and Federal-aid construction contracts when said rates or classifications are not provided in the General Decision.

Are the Signal Poles and Light Poles (including LP-1 and Decorative) to be painted? If so, please provide the information on which color (RAL or Federal ID # of the paint).

Signal Poles are standard poles (i.e. not painted). Decorative Light Poles are to be painted black (Fed ID number FS 27038). Additional information regarding the decorative lights is being added to the detail sheet in an upcoming addendum.
