On past projects, VDOT has requested that the contractor not perform vibratory compaction on roads that, based on the Traffic Group, are density incentive eligible. Will vibratory compaction be allowed for all routes listed in the proposal as Traffic Group X? If not, will these routes be eligible for the density incentive?

If water lines are present on routes through towns smooth rolling will be required and these routes will not be eligible for density bonus.

What routes in this proposal will not be eligible for the density bonus due to water lines?

Field conditions will determine if a route will qualify for density bonus at the time work is being performed. This will be determined by the engineer. Density Bonus will only apply to routes with Traffic Count X or higher with 20 feet minimum roadway width per contract specs.
