Per Special Provisions, page 96, the removal of all fish and mussels will be the responsibility of the Contractor. Can a list of approved DGIF Survey and Removal subcontractors be provided?

There are no existing plans for this bridge built in 1915.

A field section of 88 feet will be extremely difficult to ship to this bridge site due to the sharp curves on Route 684. Will VDOT allow an additional field splice to be included, identical to the plan designed one, that mirrors the permissible location?

Yes, one additional bolted field splice will be allowed. Any additional splice shall be located at the flange plate transition 26’-10” from the right end of girder and will have the same design as the splice shown on Sheet 20 of the bridge plans.
