Subject: Rip Rap Limits Type: Plan

Sheets 1 and 2 of the bridge plans detail the Class III Riprap for the project. From these sheets, we are able to determine the depth and length (east-west distance) of the riprap. It is not clear what the width (north-south distance) is for the riprap. Furthermore, it appears that Sheet 1 is showing the riprap extending 25' beyond the backwall on the slopes at each side of the bridge. No width is given here either. Riprap is being paid as a plan quantity, so we need these dimension to be able to verify the contract quantity. Please clarify the riprap limits for the project.

Subject: Abutment Preboring Type: Proposal

The "Estimated Quantities - Substructure Only" table on sheet 2 of the bridge plans shows 94 LF of 'Preboring for 12" Steel Piles Abutment'. The notes on this sheet state that the #8 stone should be included in preboring at the abutment. There is no 'Preboring for 12" Steel Piles Abutment' line item in proposal. How are the abutment preboring and #8 pile backfill stone to be paid?
