For asphalt concrete, it is the responsibility of the contractor to perform QC test at no additional cost to the department in accordance with current specification . For soils and aggregate base material, acceptance testing for density is performed by the department.

As this section has been deleted, is it correct to assume VDOT will coordinate with Comcast, DVP, Verizon and relocate utilities prior to contractor commencing box culvert installation? Is it also correct to assume any fee or cost of these utility relocation and or protection will be borne by utility owners and/or VDOT?

VDOT has coordinated with Comcast, DVP & Verizon these utilities will be relocated prior to construction. Relocation for Comcast, DVP and Verizon will be borne by utility owner.

Note 4 on pages 3B and 4B(1) state the cost of the diversion is to be included in the price for the box culvert.
