THE SPECIFICATIONS CALL FOR NO MORE THAN 3" OF ANNULAR SPACE ON ANY SIDE OF THE SLEEVE. MANY OF THESE EXISTING PIPES ARE ELLIPTICAL AND SMOOTH WALL STEEL PIPE IS TYPICALLY ROUND/CIRCULAR. PLEASE CLARIFY WHAT TYPE OF PIPE YOU REQUIRE FOR THE SLEEVES AS A ROUND PIPE INSERTED INTO AN ELLIPTICAL PIPE WILL HAVE A MUCH LARGER THAN 3" ANNULAR SPACE TO FILL WITH GROUT.
