Reference note on sheet 8 of 44
" The contractor shall not have any motorized equipment on barges in the water without the approval of the engineer."
We are requesting approval of the engineer to place motorized equipment (i.e. cranes, lifts ,etc.) on the barges such that we can both efficiently construct the project and also (1) avoid the risk of being denied permission to place a crane of adequate size on the bridge and (2) minimize risk of bridge collapse due to overload.

The distance from the closest point of the construction and the nearest airport is greater than what the FAA requires for a clearance study. Therefore, FAA Notice of Proposed Construction is not required. NOTE: Cranes on any given project or any other equipment that may be a hazard is the contractor's responsibility to receive FAA Clearance.
