Sheet 5 calls out "UD-7 Ends at Sta. 171+50". This is the only mention of UD-7 in the plans or specifications and the Schedule of Items has no corresponding pay item. Is this a part of the work?

Plans call out for STP-2 4" posts, yet there isn't a standard STP-2 4" post. The closest post would be a W12x19 according to the panel size. Please clarify which post is to be used.

The STP-2 standard was updated and re-activated in August 2019 in the VDOT 2016 Road and Bridge Standards. Please refer to VDOT Standard series 1321.xx for details on posts and foundations.

The plans call out for a 2'x6' foundation for the signs on sheet 6(2B), but there isn't a standard VDOT foundation of that size. Please clarify which standard foundation is to be used.

On Sheet 2(A) Median Widening is shown through station 158+90. On Plan Sheet 3 there is no hatching showing this median work. Can you please confirm the correct stations where this work will occur?

The median widening through sta. 158+90 will be a 5" mill & overlay. The proposed change will be handled through the change order process after award.

On the full depth section located in the median between stations 153+67 to 161+67 the excavation and replacement is 22" deep. Does the Department intend to utilize temporary concrete barrier service to protect this work zone? Given the lane closure time of 9:30 to 5:30 there is not enough time for excavation, placement of stone and the multiple lifts of asphalt required (including curing time required between lifts)

The Department intent is not to have a proposed 22" deep section in the location in question. Instead a 5" mill & overlay will take place in the specified location. The proposed change will be handled through the change order process after award.

Please see the note on sheet 6(1): "Signs noted on plans to be removed that do not have an accompanying sign label shall not be measured separately for payment. Removal and disposal for such signs shall be incidental to other contract items." These would be the signs within the cut and fill line, or clearing and grubbing areas.
