Question
Date:
4/10/2020 8:26:01 AM
The plan calls for MB-11A temporary barrier service to be installed along EB and WB 360. MB-11A is specified for bridge deck installation and is bolted down per the Standard. Please confirm that temporary barrier service should be MB-11A and should be bolted down. There is currently guardrail serving as bridge pier protection. Is temporary barrier service necessary if the guardrail will remain in place?
Answer
Date:

The MB-11A standard has pinning details for use on pavement (See Sheet 3 of MB-11A). The barrier service is intended for use along US 360 EB and WB. This application is required to accommodate the necessary work areas around Piers 1, 2, and 3.
