On Sheet CTS-11, what is happening to the existing pedestal pole with pedestrian signal head and pushbutton in the NW corner of the intersection? Is that to remain or be removed?

CTS 11 shows installing a new 6' PF-2 pole. However, there is no quantity in the Bid Schedule for a 6' PF-2 pole. There are 2 EA. Relocate Pedestal Pole. But the plans only show 1 EA. (See CTS 8). Please review and provide clarification.

General Note 4 on Page 126 states a PCMS is required for all lane closures. However, the measurement and payment for the Lump Sum MOT does not include PCMS. Are PCMS's required for all lane closures? If so, please add a pay item for PCMS.

PCMS's are not required. The General Note referencing PCMS's will be removed via addendum.  
 
Subject: RRFB Special Provision Type: Specifications

The RRFB Special Provision on Pages 196 to 199 discusses solar panels, PF-2 poles, wireless radios, etc. However, the plans call for the RRFBs to be hardwired and attached to the mast arms. Request that the measurement and payment item for the RRFB be revised to fit with the specific project requirements.

Page 181 and 182 show a luminaire and luminaire arm attached to the signal pole. However there are no pay items and no details on the plans for the luminaire and luminaire arms. Are the luminaires and luminaire arms required for this project?

Page 124 states Audible Pedestrian Actuation shall be provided. However, the special provisions for the RRFB state a standard pushbutton is required. Please clarify the type of pushbutton required.

For this project, accessible (audible) pedestrian push-buttons are required. Pursuant to a September 2018 revision to VDOT’s Road & Bridge Standards, Accessible Pedestrian Signal Units are now part of Standard PA-4.  
 
Subject: RRFB Mounting Type: Specifications

According to our supplier the way the drawings show the RRFB are not in compliant. Please clarify. An RRFB unit shall not be installed independent of the crossing warning signs for the approach that the RRFB faces. If the RRFB unit is supplementing a post-mounted sign, the RRFB unit shall be installed on the same support as the associated W11-2, S1-1, or W11-15 crossing warning sign and plaque. If the RRFB unit is supplementing an overhead-mounted sign, the RRFB unit shall be mounted directly below the bottom of the sign.
