Subject: Completion Date Type: Proposal
Question Date: 5/3/2019 8:34:27 AM
This completion date seems aggressive for a two phase deck with cast in place railing. Would the department consider a time extension?

We have reviewed the fixed completion date and feel there is adequate time to complete the project within the time frame.

Question Date: 5/17/2019 8:25:03 AM
After viewing the contract plans, and the time allotted to complete, there is no way this project can be completed by the fixed date of November 18, 2019. With a poured in place deck, one half at a time, installing false work and cure time for deck and railing, this project will most likely run into the spring of 2020. the department should take a closer look at the work involved and with unstable weather, the fixed date should be considered prior to letting this project out for bids.

Question Date: 5/9/2019 6:54:26 AM
With an estimated start date of 7/22/2019, the project time is approximately 120 days. The project is two phases with a cast in place deck and railing. The department's specifications require concrete to have 28 day strength on the deck and railing before traffic is permitted on the structure. Depending on strength gains of the concrete it is possible that 112 days could be required for the deck and railing to reach design strengths, making the project impossible to complete by November 18, 2019. These time frames do not include cure time for the substructure modifications. With this in mind, would the department consider adjusting the fixed completion date.
