There is not a pay item for Construction Surveying on the Schedule of Items. Is VDOT planning to provide the Construction Surveying for this Project?

The Department will provide construction surveying for this project.

Bid Item No. 54512 calls for 3200.00 lf Type D Class II Temp Pvmt Mrkg 4". Being as the portions of Rte 778 and Rte 617 within the project limits are being closed during construction, where does the Department anticipate the Temporary Pavement Markings 4" being located?

The road will be opened prior to all work being completed due to the substantial completion date on page 3 of the proposal requiring temporary pavement markings for traffic control.  
 
Subject: Permit for Cofferdam and Pier Demo Type: Permits

The Permit Sketches do not show a Cofferdam or make allowance for isolating the existing pier closest to Abutment A from the stream during demolition and removal. How does the Department anticipate this portion of the work being executed in compliance with the Permit?

The operations proposed by the Permit Sketches are to install the temporary causeway from the river bank on the Abutment B side of the river out to the existing pier and remove the pier. Debris from the pier can be pulled back onto the causeway during the removal. Once the existing pier is removed the causeway would be removed and the temporary cofferdam would be installed prior to excavation operations for the new pier footing.
