There is a special provision included in the proposal for a Field Router. However, there is no pay item in the Schedule of Items for the Field Router. Does VDOT want a Field Router installed under this project? If so, please revise the schedule of items.

A field router should be provided and installed as part of this project in each traffic signal cabinet. The SOI will be revised.

The quantities shown in the schedule of items: Line 1660 - 2,325 L.F. and Line 2210 - 500 L.F. do not match the summary of quantities shown on sheet 10(1). Should Line 1660 be eliminated from the contract and Line 2210 have the quantity updated to match the plans?

Line 1660 will be removed. Line 2210 will be increased to 1660. Line 1680 will be increased to 1165. Plans will be updated to match SOI.

Bid item calls for Type II. Drainage Summary, top line values call for Type II. Remarks call for Type I. Drainage Descriptions call for Type I. Plan sheet appear to need Type I. Please advise/correct what is needed?

Type I is the correct title for the item. Schedule of Items will be updated, Line 0410, Item 08265 will be changed to Item 08255 DROP INLET DI-10K TY. I, L=14’. Plan Sheets 2G(1), 2G(2), 2G(3) and 2G(4) are revised and now include the Type I description in the summary heading.

On the plans there are programmable signal heads. These heads are different in pricing than regular signal heads. Should there be a line item for this?

There are two programmable heads in the design. SOI will be revised to include six (6) "TRAF. SIG. HEAD SEC. 12" SEL. VIEW" item # 51183.

Do not see line item for programmable signal heads, just line item 1580 that refers to spec 703 which are not programmable.

Is there actually 6 3-way preemptions or is it 2 type 3 that includes the 6 detectors?

It should be a QTY of 2 for line 1670 - item 51523 EVP Detection System 3-Way. Line 1681 will be eliminated. The EVP 3-way system comes with 3 detectors, so there is no need for auxiliary (extra) detectors.

Due to a lengthy structural steel lead time for the PBU’s, as well as cold weather restrictions for paving & striping the numerous traffic shifts, will the Department reevaluate the Substantial Completion Date?

VDOT has reevaluated the project in regards to the concern over procurement time frames and temperature limitations. An addendum is forthcoming with the revised completion dates.

The latest revision removed the Notice to Proceed date of January 7, 2019. What does the Department anticipate as the new Notice to Proceed date?

The original NTP was included as a delayed NTP date however with the delayed letting this was removed. VDOT anticipates the Notice to Proceed date to still be around January 7, 2019.  
 
Subject: MSE Quantity Type: Plan

It appears that the bid quantity for the MSE walls includes the concrete retaining walls supporting the parapets. These concrete retaining walls are also included in the A3 concrete pay item quantity. Please verify the bid quantities for these items.

The MSE Wall quantity does not include the concrete for the retaining wall.
