Gentlemen the substantial completion date of 11/1/18 is impractical. The schedule basically leaves 5-6 calendar days to complete each bridge assuming that the submittals will take about sixty days from the NTP to acceptance. We respectfully request that the DOT review their schedule and extend the substantial completion date at least a year after NTP.

The original substantial and final completion dates. will remain the same. The lane closure restrictions are for the interstates only. Several of the structures can be completed by accessing from the roadway below which is not covered by the interstate lane closure restrictions.

Substantial completion date = 11/1/18, Contract fixed completion date 12/30/18 Contract bid date = 6/20/18. Traffic Restriction = No Friday/Saturday work i.e. 5 days Minimum 60 days from contract bid date to completion of all submittals including precon meeting. Leaves approximately 60 working days to Substantial completion date. 9 bridges involved. Can VDOT extend the completion date into late spring/early summer 2019?
