Will VDOT be required to give the contractor task orders that equal to 70% of the contract value?

Yes, that is the intent in accordance with Section 104.01 of the proposal.

How many task orders will the contractor be expected to work on at one time? Some contracts have required that the contractor have enough manpower to work on 4 task at a time.

Task orders will be issued as they are ready to go and fixed completion dates will be agreed upon per task order. There may be task orders issued with staggered schedules and completion dates. The expectation is that the contractor can move from 1 task order to the next with minimal delay.

According to the proposal page 4 section 106.08 the contractor is required to keep material on hand but will not receive payment for this material unless it is installed. However, the material that will be bought back at the end of the contract does not come close to equal of what is required to keep on hand. It is our understanding that this was supposed to be evaluated in order to keep the pricing low. How is the contractor supposed to take this potential loss on the contract or can payment for stored material be added this contract?

The intent is to either use up all material on hand in identified task orders in the last 6 months and/or reimburse the contractor for whatever is left of the stored material on hand that’s in good condition. We will pay for stored materials on hand after the task orders, but all material paid for this way must be delivered to us in good condition.

According to the revision for the Accessible Pushbutton Station PA-4 the 6' PA-4 pole is supposed to be paid for as a separate line item. Should there be a line item added to this contract?

The Ped Buttons can be mounted on other pole types; locations that may require the PA-4 pole type, work orders may be issued.
