Taking into consideration the existing pavement deviations and the warranty requirement for delamination of THMACO materials, will the Department add a 0"-2" milling item for the mainline pavement so that the contractor will have a reasonable opportunity to achieve the rideability as required by the specifications?

Subject: THMACO Placement Type: Proposal

Per the THMACO Special Provision, there are two options for placing the tack coat. Option #1 requires a spray bar paver to be used, Option #2 allows for a mechanical distributor or spray bar paver. Will Option #1 be the only option allowed for this project?

Placement of the THMACO and tack shall be with a Spray Bar Paver as noted in the contract.
