Question
Date:
1/15/2018 9:45:30 AM
Is there data available to show locations of existing joint fabric that may be encountered during milling operations? If those locations have fabric that span multiple lanes, the milling machine could pull the entire length of fabric and compromise the pavement in the adjacent lanes. How would Vdot compensate for this contingency?
Answer
Date:
1/18/2018 11:01:24 AM
Joint fabrics could be encountered along transverse joints on I-495 express lanes. Locations will be marked prior to construction and the contractor will be required to saw-cut prior to milling operation.
Question
Date:
1/19/2018 11:15:42 AM
Will the saw cutting be paid for under line items 20 or 30 when they are clarified?
Answer
Date:
1/19/2018 3:09:02 PM
Both saw cutting are same item. By typo, the I-495 SB and I-495 NB saw cutting showed up as separate items in the summary. Please consider this as one item with total of 15,996 LF.
