The asphalt patching shown on page 61, has the square footage and not the size or with of the patching. Will VDOT allow the contractor to use the same size equipment it has on site to do the patches 7' milling and 8' paver ?

Yes, VDOT will allow the same size equipment provided it can accommodate a minimum patch width of 7 feet.

1-31-17 (SPCN) details directional drilling as part of Remove and Replace (size) Detector Loop. Is this in reference to the possibility of 1" conduit required to connect the loop to the existing junction box? Or is VDOT anticipating bored conduit between existing junction boxes?

VDOT does not anticipate bored conduit between existing junction boxes. Directional boring was included as an alternative option to trenching for the contractor to connect the loop to the existing junction box.
