Question
Date:

Please verify the location and depth of Item 60, BM-25.0A. The bid quantity appears to be much larger than the scope of work shown on the plans.
Answer
Date:
3/9/2017 8:59:03 AM
The majority of the BM-25.0A quantity comes from the variable depth overlay, which is used to raise the existing grade 0-11” on all four ramps and F-310 approaching the proposed structure. Per the pavement legend note on sheet 28c the profile should be used to calculate the required overlay depth along the F-310 approaches to the bridge structure. The profiles on sheets 28g and 28h provide the proposed and existing ground elevations necessary to determine the overlay depth at a given point along any alignment. Additional BM-25.0A material quantity comes from the MC-4 paving required under the guardrail at the north end of the F-310 structure.
