Question
Date:
1/31/2017 1:47:01 PM
Considering the completion date for this project, why is the Full Depth Patching in Pulaski Co. restricted to dates in April & May? Could dates during June & July be used as allowed for the Montgomery Co. location?
Answer
Date:
2/2/2017 4:20:07 PM
1.) Longer duration delays to motorists are expected in Pulaski County than Montgomery, due to the lack of a good alternate route and the presence of an uphill grade. ~~~ 2.0 No. Traffic counts are historically higher in the months of June and July, and the Department is not willing to accept the potential motorist delays, caused by an extended closure during these months, in Pulaski County.

Limitation of Operations

Question
Date:
1/31/2017 10:40:12 AM
The SPCN for Full Depth Patching limits the extended closure to one per work location, when would the patching be completed if the contractor could not complete all patch areas during the time allowed due to weather or unforeseen circumstances and opened the area to traffic on time to prevent user fee assessment? Why is there a limit of one time for the extended closure?
Answer
Date:
2/2/2017 4:20:42 PM
If the full depth patching is not completed during one of the allowable extended closures, it may be completed from Sunday to Thursday, between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM daily. Due to the expected delays for motorists resulting from an extended length closure, the Department is only willing to allow one per location.
