“Predictable weather” is defined as that weather being forecasted by a reputable source at the time a decision to proceed with the Work is being made. Any reputable weather service may be used for this determination, and this may be a point of discussion and agreement at the Pre-Construction Meeting.

Provisions (C515C00) – (c515c00-0916) Section III.A.1 states “The Contractor will be limited in the case of regular pavement planing, whether in a single lane or multiple lane operation, to only that amount of pavement that can be paved back to its final elevation within 24 hours of completion of planing that roadway or portion of roadway.” Section III.A.1. states “Performance pavement planing may be performed in multiple lanes across the entire widths of the lanes up 4 miles of travel lane unless otherwise stated in the Contract. Performance planed travel lane surfaces must be paved back to their final elevation within 96 hours from the end of the performance planing operation.” We request that VDOT remove these restrictions on roadways in which multiple operations will take place to repair the underlying pavements such as planning 2”-4” and placing IM-19.0 in that area, or areas in which surface preparation & restoration is to take place after pavement planning has taken place, or any other areas in which subsurface activities will take place.
