A temporary traffic signal on the Rt. 200 bridge over Carter’s Creek is required in accordance with page 155 of the proposal. The temporary traffic signal shall be designed to operate within the existing geometric conditions along the roadway.

On Structure 1945, please verify that blasting and painting operations are allowed from the bridge deck?

Blasting and painting operations are allowable from the bridge deck as long as applied loads from construction vehicles and equipment does not exceed the structure’s capacity. Any construction vehicle and equipment staged from the deck shall be analyzed and submitted to the Department for review to ensure the loading does not exceed the structure’s capacity. Operations from the bridge deck requiring a lane closure shall only be allowed during the hours specified on page 154 of the proposal.
