Install layers of 3XT geogrid at the bottom of the slope at the locations shown on Sheet 4B between El. 1135 and El. 1142. Geogrid length = 10 feet and the Geogrid LTDS = 1877 LB-FT.

Will a WEAP analysis be required in addition to the PDA testing? If so, is the contractor responsible for the analysis and how will it be paid?

WEAP analysis (Wave Equation Analysis of Pile Driving) is required. The contractor is responsible for the analysis and the cost is included in the Dynamic Pile Test item.

Sheet 2B(1) shows a 13’ drilled length typical and a note that states " *Indicates minimum required drilled nail length from back face of shotcrete layer to tip of soil nail”. Sheet 2B shows a proposed ROW 13’ from the back face of the wall. Can the soil nails be installed deeper or are they limited to 13' because of the ROW?

The bid item for impact attenuators shows a quantity of 16 each. Based on the MOT plans, we have only been able to locate 8 attenuators. Where would the remaining 8 each go?

There are only 8 attenuators needed on the project. An addendum will be issued correcting this.

On plan sheet 1K(1) under Public Communications, #3 states that the contractor shall have a minimum of 2 message board in place for use as directed by the engineer. Does "in place" mean that the contractor will have to set up two message boards on the project for the duration or just if needed? And if they are set up for the duration of the project, will they be paid for only when being used or for the duration of the project?

Message boards will be used one week prior and one week after each traffic shift. If additional hours may be required as directed by the Engineer, and will be paid at the hourly rate for the bid item. Message boards will not be required to be held in reserve for the project.
