I have note 4 from Chase Buchanan at the pre bid meeting that indicates the stations for each bid item. I have MOT plans that in cases calls for sheet piling, sheet piling /temp MSE and shoring. The MOT plan also calls for sheet piling on Ramp 2 in phase 6 which is not included in the notes from the meeting. Can you clarify the footage and anticipated SF of each section of temp shoring or temp sheeting and which bid item you are using to pay for it?

The temporary shoring required at Ramp 2 was inadvertently left off of Mr. Buchanan's Note #4. The quantities for Temporary Sheet Piling and Retaining Structure Shoring as shown on Sheet 2C(1) are correct. The Retaining Structure Shoring should be paid for according to Special Provision Copied Note (Temporary Shoring) on page 12 of the Bid Proposal and Contract. After the Pre-Bid meeting it was noticed that the call out for temporary shoring was inconsistent for Phase VI and a Plan Revision dated September 18, 2015 was issued to correct this.

In the traffic management plan it states that all barrier shall be anchored. My question is, do the quantities reflect the L.F. needed for anchorage? Or am I suppose to determine the amount needed and include it in other items?

Sheet 1K(2) noted that all Traffic Barrier shall be anchored. At the prebid meeting, it was stated that Anchoring in that note did not refer to pinning or bolting to the roadway service. Could you clarify that the only barrier to be bolted is on the existing bridges and no anchoring is required on the other roadway surfaces.

If any ground mounted barrier is within 2 feet of an excavation where it can be knocked off the edge, it must be pinned.

In the grading Diagram and Summary note 9 reads Volume obtained for Cut Ditches and fill Ditches not in included in computer listings, the summary does not list any quantity for cut ditches or fill ditches and shows it to be paid as a plan quantity item. Our question is how will the cut and fill ditches be and what is the quantity?

Cut and fill quantities for ditches were obtained from computer listings and/or manual cross sections and are included in the Roadway Cut and Roadway Fill columns. Note 9 is referring to any ditches not included in computer listings or manual cross sections.

Washington County, VA has a Transducer they like; we can not find the specification for the Transducer, we want to make sure we can use the one that Washington Co. likes if possible; however we need to what is specified for the project..

The pressure transducers are shown on the plans. See plan sheet 14(17). Note #4 and note #34 indicate the specific type and model #s for the suction and discharge pressure transducers.
