The Road & Bridge only gives you the design not the number of circuits needed, that comes for a panel board schedule with the number of circuits need. Which is normally in the job plan sheets. Can the Department Provide this?

There is no panel and therefore no panel schedule. The lighting is served from individual pole mounted meters and disconnect switches. There are 3 different locations where the lights are served from and each location has a pole mounted power company meter and owner supplied disconnect switch.

On pages 2(3), 2(5), and 2(7) of the plans (Typical Sections for Crosswalks), there is a note that states items 6, 11, and 15 are incidental to item 14. On the Pavement Summary on pages 2G(1), 2G(2) the summary states the quantity of 21B base stone includes items 4-7, and 22. Can the Department clarify if items 4-7 and 22 are included in the summary quantities for 21B payments and not incidental to the crosswalks?

The summary quantities for 21B identified on pages 2G(1) and 2G(2) are not incidental to the crosswalks nor brick pavers. The summary quantity for 21B covers items 4, 5, 7, and 22 as identified on the typical sections.

In this instance both items in question are the same, they are included as work in both alternate bids, please be governed by the copied note in the proposal as only one alternate will be selected.

The paver edge restraints that is specified in Section 504.02(o) is not made for paver applications. The edging specified is used for landscape bed application. Most paver edge restraints are "L" shaped (i.e. Pave Edge, Iron Edge). Can the specification be changed to utilize a paver edge restraint or provide an alternative?

The edging specified and shown in detail 2b on the plan sheets is correct. The locations where the edging is required are shown on the plans. It is used where the brick sidewalk edge meets a soft landscape (planting beds or turf). Three vendors were identified in the spec. An 'L' shaped paver edge is not an acceptable alternative.

I see on the bid form were (4) Quercus rubra (Northern Red Oak) is a pay item. I do not see the Northern Red Oak on the plant list on sheet 10(7). Is the Northern Red Oak a substitution to the Tilia Americana 'Boulevard' Linden?

Yes, the department has set a non-mandatory showing.The date is June 11th at 10:30 am. The location is the Middleburg Town Hall 10 W. Marshall Street Middleburg, VA 20117.
