I would like for the District to verify how the Fiber Surface Treatment is to be constructed. The specifications describe a single seal type treatment not a Modified Single Seal as described in the route details at the end of the proposal. All the past fiber projects have been single seals. I do not believe it is feasible to build it any other way.

CRS-1P GLASS FIBER REINFORCED SURFACE TREATMENT as described in the contract. surface treatment in a single operation comprised of a layer of polymer modified asphalt emulsion, a layer of chopped and placed fibers, and a layer of polymer modified asphaltic emulsion, to which a cover of aggregate is immediately applied.

Is the Fiber Surface Treatment designed to be constructed as a Single Seal or a Modified Single Seal? The route details in the back of the proposal describe using #8P and #9 aggregates in a split seal style treatment. In prior contracts, this has always been a single seal with #8P's only.

The ‘Fiber Surface Treatment’ is to be placed as a Modified Single Seal.
