Sheet 2 of 31 of the bridge plans, “General Notes (Continued)” identify the prebored hole size at 24”. The sheet also shows a bearing plate of 12”x12” as a detail. Section 403.06(d).6 states preboring holes must be between 110% and 120% of the pile area, which would be 1.1 to 1.2 square feet based on the bearing plate area. A 24” diameter hole has an area of 3.14 square feet. Please clarify.

Sheet 3RW note 6 states "All monumentation to be set upon completion" Who's responsibility is this? The contractor's or VDOT's?

VDOT will set all RW monuments. It will be the contractors responsibility to reset them if disturbed during construction.

Are the overhead railroad utility lines going to be relocated prior to the start of this project? If so, where will they be relocated too?

The railroad utility lines are not in service, so they will not be relocated. These lines will be removed by the railroad. We expect this work to be performed prior to construction.
