Subject: Signal Pole Anchor Bolts Type: Specifications
Question Date: 9/15/2014 3:29:52 PM
The specifications require UT testing to be performed on the signal pole anchor bolts once the pole is set and the nuts have been torqued. What if it's discovered that an anchor bolt, or more have fractured or failed the test? What will be the process from there and who will be responsible for the costs?
Answer   Date: 9/18/2014 3:15:35 PM
Perhaps I don't fully understand the question. If an anchor bolt fails/fractures, the installing contractor is responsible. If the contractor overtightens a bolt causing it to fail, then it is up to them to reinstall, etc. to meet the standard, like any other item that is installed/constructed. Am I missing the meaning?

Subject: Milling Quantities Type: Bid Sheet
Question Date: 9/11/2014 11:05:22 AM
The bid sheet states 23,476 SY of Flexible Pavement Planing 0 - 2". I can only find about 12,000 SY on the plan pages. Please review.
Answer   Date: 9/12/2014 1:45:48 PM
The milling was figured per inch. Therefore it is really twice the surface area. VDOT will correct the quantity via addendum.
