It seems unlikely that this project will be awarded in time to switch traffic this year pushing the start of construction to spring of 2015. Will VDOT extend to completion date?

The completion date has been changed to August 10, 2016. It is too late for an official addendum, so a posting under ANNOUNCEMENTS on the Construction website will serve as notice of the change. The final contract will show the completion date as August 10, 2016.

The completion date for this project seems unreal. With the amount of work to be done prior to switching traffic, and even afterwards, the completion date, as set, would be almost impossible to meet. Would VDOT consider extending the completion date prior to bid?
