Ref Sheet 2E 1) The borrow quantity does not match the calculation given. The borrow quantity given seems to be for Traffic Control Phase 1 only, but the diagram/summary does not reflect this. 2) The job appears to be a surplus haul off, but no surplus is indicated on the grading diagram. 3) Do the cut quantities for the detours include the removal of the temporary crossovers during Stage 4? It does not appear so.

1) The borrow quantity does not match the calculation given. The borrow quantity given seems to be for Traffic Control Phase 1 only, but the diagram/summary does not reflect this. A.) The borrow quantities shown on grading diagram for Detour West (MOT) and Detour East (MOT) are for stage 1 only. There is no borrow for other stages. 2) The job appears to be a surplus haul off, but no surplus is indicated on the grading diagram. A.) The job is a surplus haul off. 3) Do the cut quantities for the detours include the removal of the temporary crossovers during Stage 4? It does not appear so. A.) YES. The total includes the removal of all the temporary work.

Sheet 2F2 shows 250 cy of regular excavation that is not included in the grading diagram on sheet 2. Is the 250 cy included in the regular excavation on sheet 2E?

NO. This quantity was separated out from the grading diagram quantities and placed under the SWM breakout items. It is represented in the estimate as a separate line item.

Sheet 5(c) shows 151 CY of Sediment Basin Excavation. Sheet 2E note 5 says "Temporary Sediment Basin Excavation is included in SWM basin quantities", yet none is shown in the diagram. Is the 151 CY included in the overall excavation or not?

Reference Special Provision- Water Quality Grass Swale, Section III. Materials Part A. Soil Media (page 199). Could you direct me to the list of approved flter media vendors?

There is not a list of VDOT ‘approved filter media vendors”. The requirement is that the soil media supplier/suppliers chosen by the contractor certifies that their soil media meet the proportions by volume as specified in the Special Provision.
