60" Culvert Extension
Type:
Plan
Question
Date:
4/21/2021 1:33:50 PM
Will the contractor be responsible for cleaning and debris removal for the existing 60" culverts?
Answer
Date:
4/23/2021 11:34:48 AM
No. The contractor is only required to extend the pipes in accordance with the plans.
Question
Date:
4/7/2021 9:41:06 AM
Is a detail available for the connection of the new 60" pipes to the existing pipes? One crossing has a mitered end and the other has a headwall. The plans do not indicate if the existing headwall is to be removed, or portions of the mitered ends removed.
Answer
Date:
4/14/2021 4:42:47 PM
The drainage descriptions note that polymer coated steel coupling bands are required for each of the CMP pipe extensions. For the coupler to fit properly, the mitered cut section will need to be cut flush/vertical and the existing headwall removed. The cost of removal shall be included in the price bid for regular excavation in accordance with General Note G-4. The 35’ length on the culvert extensions at Str. 6-5 where the existing headwall is located accounts for the headwall removal. The 40’ length of the culvert extensions at Str. 5-16 accounts for 8’ of the mitered cut section removal. No additional detail is available.

Signage
Type:
Bid Sheet
Question
Date:
4/20/2021 2:50:58 PM
The schedule of signs shows 22 EA 2 1/2", 12 Gauge posts but there is no line item for these, only 2 1/2" 10 gauge posts. Will they all be paid for under this line item?
Answer
Date:
4/23/2021 11:39:24 AM
All sign posts and foundations will be in accordance with the sign schedule on sheet 11(7). This will result in the addition of 228 LF of Sign Post STP-1, 2 ½”, 12 Gauge (Item Code 50436) and 3 EA Concrete Sign Foundation STP-1, TYPE B (Item Code 50486). There will be a corresponding reduction in the quantity of Sign Post STP-1, 2 ½” 10 Gauge (Item Code 50434) to 36 LF and Concrete Sign Foundation STP-1, Type A (Item Code 50485) to 19 EA. The changes will not be reflected in the plans or contract until after the bid letting.
