There is only steel mill that produces the GR 50CR steel material required for this project and they may not be able to produce the product required in adequate time for the D32 project to be completed by the November 29, 2021 completion date. Will VDOT allow the Contractor additional time to complete this project if this delay were to occur considering there is only one available source for this material?

Plan sheet 23 of 24, note 3 states the "length of 10 gauge Thrie beam rail shall be sufficient for lap details described in the plans." I can not find details on lapping or panel length in the plans. Was this left off the plans?

Per 2016 VDOT Road and Bridge Standard, CS500, MGS-HDW Thrie beam transition section detail requires 12.5” laps with adjacent guardrail.

The acceptance of wood treatments conforming to R&B specification 236 will be accepted on a certification from a wood treatment facility on VDOT pre-approved listing (#45). The additional reference information into this matter would be Manual of Instructions (MOI) 204.33 and MOI 204.29 respectively.
